I grew up in west Cork and returned to my home village of Durrus in 2017, having spent over 20 years in London, marketing household names such as Hovis, Bisto and Ambrosia.

On returning home, I took part time marketing roles with the food festival, A Taste of West Cork, and the local newspaper, The Southern Star, both of which allowed me to build my network, and get to understand what it’s like to be a small business owner here in west Cork.
At the same time, I completed a Train the Trainer programme and began delivering marketing courses through the Cork Education and Training Board (CETB) and through a local training company called Business IQ. Business IQ has contracts with several Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) throughout Munster and I began delivering marketing training as part of the LEO’s Start Your Own Business (SYOB) programme. I also deliver marketing training as part of the Grow Your Business programme, as well as Digital Marketing Courses, in particular Social Media.
I set up Wiser Marketing in the summer of 2020, a marketing consultancy offering training, advice and practical help in delivering all forms of marketing. Clients include a number of west Cork hotels and B&Bs, several retailers, a charity adventure race, a flower farm, and the award winning Durrus Cheese.
Outside work, I love walking the hills of west Cork and particularly those on the Sheep’s Head peninsula, and I enjoy swimming in glorious Dunmanus Bay throughout the year.
